Heirlytics

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Heirlytics helps you locate lost financial accounts and assets — your own, or a deceased loved one's — using public and official records. Searching for assets is always free — we never charge you and never take a share of anything recovered. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you submit our intake form, we collect:

  • About you: your name, email, and phone number (optional). If you are searching on behalf of a deceased loved one, we also collect your relationship to them.
  • About the person you're searching for: their name and any other names used, approximate date of passing (if applicable), states and city they lived in, and any notes you choose to share to help the search. If you are searching for your own assets, this is the same information as above.

Please do notsend Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or other highly sensitive identifiers through the form — we don't need them to begin a search.

If you are a professional (an attorney or financial advisor) with a Heirlytics subscription, we also collect your account and billing details.

How we use your information

  • To perform and organize the asset search you requested.
  • To contact you about your request, by email and phone.
  • To operate, secure, and improve our service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

When we share your information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • With a professional working on your case. If an estate-planning attorney or financial advisor is assisting with the estate, we may share your information with them so they can help.
  • With service providers who run our service on our behalf (for example, hosting and email), under confidentiality obligations.
  • When required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal and record-keeping needs. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see your rights below).

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, and a growing number of other states), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or opt out of certain sharing. To make a request, email us at privacy@heirlytics.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit who can access it.

Children

Heirlytics is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “last updated” date above, and significant changes will be made clear on this page.
